If you Flatline...You're Dead!

I was speaking to a friend about a problem I was having.  She told me that, when you go to the hospital emergency, they check your heart to see how it's beating; if the line is moving up and down you're good; if it flatlines,  you're dead; we don't want to flatline.

Life is like your heart beat on the monitor; it has ups and downs. The Bible says, "In this life you WILL have trouble".

The problem are the 'flatliners'. They are people who believe that  life should be easy without its inevitable ups and downs. This translates into their constant analysis paralysis of  their life and the people in it. Their quest for the perfect spouse, job, children...life, leaves them with a  sense of dissatisfaction.

They tirelessly evaluate what they have against the perfect life imagined in their mind. They make choices based solely on their needs and wants irrespective of the collateral damage that their decisions cause on the lives of others and they are anaware of the environment they create by their perpetual unhappiness.

Choose to ride the waves of your life and be content. Choose to be thankful of the things and people in your life. The next time that you are going through a tumulturous life event remember your heart; if you flatline you're dead.

Be The Super Hero in Your Own Life!

I love action movies.  The adventure,  the plot,  good guy verses bad guy.  All time favorite movie; The Matrix- first of the trilogy; "The One", (you'll get that if you love the movie).

Don't get me wrong, romance and comedy movies are good but I don't want to pay money to see someone cry on the big screen, unless it's just before they are rescued by the hero of the movie.

One day I began to think about why I am really into action movies. I realised that I enjoy them because they represent hope above all odds. The hero doesn't give up or quit; when things get rough, he gets tough. Using skill, intelligence, and undying perserverance, the hero, against insurmountable odds, IS victorious!

What's your life story right now? Are you the hero or the damsel in distress.  Its time to take off the pumps (unless its a Louboutin or Manolo) and get ready to rumble. No one else but you should star in the movie of your life,  no boyfriend, boss, child, parent, spouse, pet.... you get top billing and you must save the day;  your life depends on it!

What ever your dealing with today...Be The Super Hero in Your Own Life!

One Red Dot

I'm reminded of a past visit to AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario).

There was a a piece of artwork with a million White Dots that surrounded a single Red Dot. The Red Dot was the same size as all of the other White Dots, but for some reason my whole focus was on the single solitary Red Dot.

Isn't that the same with life events? There may only be a single Red Dot that comes our way,  but we tend to focus on it despite the opportunity represented by all of the White Dots in our life.

We must consciously choose to focus on the White Dots in our life so that we are not hindered by the one Solitary Red Dot event. This Red Dot in our life could be a sour relationship,  a job, child; anything we ascribe our full attention and  consequently our power.
